Florida Statutes require that the Clerk of the Circuit Court act as Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). In this capacity, a primary responsibility of the Clerk is to record and index minutes for the Board of County Commission meetings. The Clerk produces and maintains an electronic as well as a digital version of the BOCC proceedings. The audio tapes are available to the public for listening purposes or purchase the following morning. In addition, the Clerk maintains the ordinance and resolution indices; maintains the records of appointments to various county boards; executed contracts, agreements and change orders; advertises public hearings for the Board of County Commissioners; receives bids, requests for proposals, and requests for qualifications on behalf of county departments; and maintains custody and control of the county seal. The Clerk also serves as Recording Secretary to the Planning and Zoning Board, various committees established by the Board of County Commissioners, the Value Adjustment Board, and the Ocean Highway and Port Authority.
