This week is Juror Appreciation Week & the Nassau County Clerk of Courts Office recognize and thank those who serve as jurors in Nassau County.
Did you know Florida law requires names of persons living in the county be selected at random for jury service from the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) records of people having a driver license or state ID card? Another Positive Fiscal Year for Nassau County
The audit is done and the news is good! I am proud to report, after one thousand four hundred hours of work and review by our independent auditor, Nassau County was issued an unmodified report for fiscal year ending 2016. Independent auditor Ron Whitesides, from Purvis Gray & Company says, “That’s the highest level of assurance an audit firm can render.” Further mentioning, “Your financial statements are fairly presented,” and “…you had a positive fiscal year.”

Clerk’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Wins Award for the 10th Consecutive Year
Yulee, FL – October 27, 2016 - Nassau County Clerk of Court & Comptroller, John A. Crawford, has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2015. The CAFR is a 149-page document outlining all county fund balances, financial statements, net assets, and more. Once again, Crawford praised the professionalism and dedication of his Finance staff in preparing the report.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, IL and Washington, D.C., providing independent analysis of public accounting practices and financial reporting. As the independently elected Chief Financial Officer of the County, the Clerk’s & Comptroller’s office provides a check and balance as the accountant, treasurer, auditor and custodian of all county funds.

Offices Will Be Closed Friday, September 8, and Monday, September 11 Due to Hurricane Irma , all Nassau County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller offices will be closed Friday, September 8, and Monday, September 11. This includes the Robert M. Foster Justice Center and the Historic Courthouse. Court hearings in all courthouses have been cancelled for these dates.
