Florida Statutes require that the Clerk of the Circuit Court act as Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).
In this capacity, a primary responsibility of the Clerk is to record and index minutes for the Board of County Commission meetings. In addition, the Clerk maintains the ordinance and resolution indices; maintains the records of appointments to various county boards; executed contracts, agreements and change orders; processes and advertises appeals of various boards created by the BOCC; receives bids, requests for proposals, and requests for qualifications on behalf of county departments; and maintains custody and control of the county seal. The Clerk also serves as Recording Secretary to the Planning and Zoning Board, Conditional Use and Variance Board, and various committees established by the Board of County Commissioners,. The Clerk, or his designee, also plays a ministerial role for the Value Adjustment Board.
